They're Ghana win

Not being a sports fan, I didn't even know who was in contention for the World Cup, but I made a smart-ass comment last week that I was going to root for Ghana. Well, guess what ....

That's what I love about soccer, it can be full of surprises!

full of surprises
Yes, but so can serial killers. :-)

I'm sorry, but -- there just aren't enough cheerleaders. Not that soccer fans need them!

I once saw a hockey game break out at a fight ... but other than that, not a big sports fan. Except for cheerleaders.

I like to watch figure skating and gymnastics. Now, let's face it, I can go on about the athletics and artistry all I want, but in the end it's still females in skimpy outfits.

In reality, I don't watch much sports at all, even if there *are* cheerleadeers. Just the Indy 500 and the Superbowl, mostly for the commercials.

Man after my own heart.

I might have enjoyed sports if they hadn't made me try and play them in school. I was traumatized, and want nothing to do with them now, no way, no how!

gym class, or as I like to call it, Hell
Same here. I might have been okay just watching; but what with my inability to throw, run, hit, or catch, playing games was nothing but a recipe for embarassement.

Let's see, you cheer for a team and they win. Want to start cheering for the Detroit Tigers? 'Cause it's been 22 years since they've won a world series and that's just way too long! (And let's not even talk about the Lions....)

My history is that if I really start rooting for a team, they lose. For example, I give you the only two teams that I follow even a little: The Cubs and the Colts. I rest my case.

Exactly
I kept rooting for nude cheerleading, and now they don't even HAVE that sport.

Embarassingly
They've got more chance than England thanks to the jerk-off we have managing us.

manager
Maybe you should send Faith after him ... although Faith doesn't strike me as the sort who'd care that much about sports.

Re: manager
Knowing our manager he'd try to cop-off with her.

Although at least if she killed him we'd get someone who isn't in love with Beckham.

Beckham's still around?

Re: manager
He's still in the team.

Wether he's any use is another matter, he's about as mobile as I am, tackles worse than my brother, can't head the ball, but other than that he's superb.

One manager turned down the Englans job because he was told he'd have to keep Beckham in the team for commerical reasons.

be dim like Beckham
I saw a pic of him making a goal in the newspaper yesterday -- although that's just one moment, of course.

Re: be dim like Beckham
We call it scoring a goal.

And it's his first goal in 12 games, and first free-kicked goal in three years. And he takes every free kick we get.

The first goal in 12 games, huh? He's almost as good as I am.

ha ha. That's okay...I wasn't even aware that there was a World Cup this year, but then again, there seems to be one every year. Ya, I'm worldly.

Thought it was like the Olympics, huh? Some of us just aren't cut out to be sports fans.
