Storm Chaser Shorts

Would you like to see my shorts?

Let me rephrase: How about a peak into the lives of my "Storm Chaser" characters -- before the events of the book?

Starting in February we'll post a series of short stories on the web site (www.markrhunter.com), each featuring one of the book's characters and available for free. That's at least five short stories, between February and June, and maybe more.  Whiskey Creek Press is interested in gathering them together as an e-book, and if that happens I'll add on more brand new stories, set *after* the book.

No spoilers!

It seems like a good selling tool, in addition to a chance to do more writing. Besides, once I get into a universe, I tend to like sticking around to see how things work out. Maybe, if Storm Chaser is a success, there'll even be a sequel in my future!

that would be great. I admit it, I've downloaded all of the free shorts Douglas Clegg had on his site (not read theme yet and knowing me ever since I hate reading on the computer but I have them)

I have at least four previously published shorts I have the rights back to that I could (maybe fix up some first) put up for free on my future site.

I think it would be a good selling tool

Right, and it's important to find good selling tools. I've heard of some writers who have given away entire novels on their websites, and swear it increases their sales overall.

I'm not a huge fan of reading on the computer either, but I've grown use to it over the years. It was fanfiction that gave me the practice, after I'd been online for awhile and realized I couldn't afford to print off everything.

well i've seen giveaways at goodreads and via my publishers i guess it could get enough interest for the book that if they dont' win they might buy

because of my migraines i ended up reading less fanfic

I've never had a migraine, but my daughter and fiancee both get them -- not pleasant.
