sick day and Nicki Clyne

Okay, I thought I was coming down with Emily's flu so, partially to keep from spreading it around but mostly because I felt like crap, I took a sick day. But I never got it as bad as she did, and after about three days (that's where I've been for the past three days) I started feeling better. After my normal days off I came back to work -- and within an hour of being there felt like I had the worst head cold in the history of ick. Also, it was hot in dispatch, which is a concern because it's never hot in dispatch.

Could it be some people really are allergic to work? I thought it was just an excuse.

On a totally unrelated note, earlier tonight I got a reply to a comment I made on a Tweet by Nicki Clyne, who science fiction fans will recognize as an Cally from Battlestar Galactica. That's my third very brief encounter with celebrity after Amber Benson and Felicia Day, and it made me think that maybe that kind of thing is more common than I thought. After all, artists of various types are people; I suppose they occasionally like to connect with other people, as long as they have time and the other people have something of interest to say (with Nicki it was a reply to a comment she made about The Wizard of Oz).

She replied to me during the time I was offline sick, so I'd imagine that by the time I got back to her she'd forgotten what I was talking about!
