Who can turn a simple renovation of a tiny bathroom into a week long endurance ride through the depths of hell? WE can, that's who! On a related note, the lead paint chips and dust are makeing it herd ffffome ttoooo se48q20 lvfkssjao.

Jillian's doing fine! Although she says that ever since her tonsils came out, she's speaking in a southern accent. I told her that would go away in a few months. ;-)

Yeah, I was worried needlessly ... as is my habit. I mean I was worried needlessly about Jillian, I've got *plenty* of reasons to worry about the renovation!

I grew up through a home remodeling project. My dad bought the house as a fixer-upper and for a dozen years, we were working on it. Just saying I feel your pain. For most people, The Money Pit was a comedy with Tom Hanks and Shelley Long. For me, it was a walk down memory lane.

In Bakshi's Mighty Mouse, there is a scene where the Cow botches a plumbing job and tells Mike, "Don't fret, Mike. There is nothing about this plumbing problem ripping up the whole floor won't fix." I didn't laugh, I winced. So have all my other friends who have done home improvement projects.

Just saying I feel your pain, dude....

Absolutely! That kind of stuff isn't comedy, for me -- it's real life.

Having said that, I do have a tendency to turn the horrible repair effort events of my life into humor columns ...

Hurrah for Jillian - and I hope you finally defeat the bathroom.

That's what kicked me into gear on this project -- finding a mushroom in the wall. I knew it needed to be done, but that was the last straw!

Very glad Jillian is doing OK *sends cool drinks and ice cream*

Bathrooms are always difficult to renovate! Good luck! :)

Apparently she's now supposed to be eating salty foods in addition to the ice cream; that surprised me, but on second thought it makes sense in the healing process. In any case, she's getting fixed up faster than my bathroom!

Never done a renovation but I sympathize. (We're supposed to rent a house in Bremen from my uncle. We thought it might be ready to move in in May - 2009. They're almost done....)

I'm glad Jillian's doing well. Salty food, huh? (I was also supposed to chew gum - of course, that was 41 years ago.)

The salty food thing was news to me -- but I guess it makes sense, since gargling with salt water can help your throat.

Frankly, moving into a house *after* it's been renovated is worth the wait! :-)
