Robbie's condition

Rob is going home! He's going to his own home, in fact, after refusing to move in with his parents because he wants to remain independent. In the end, his leg had to be amputated to mid-thigh, but I don't know what they will mean as far as artificial limbs. The main thing is he's out of physical danger, and remains determined to be a positive contributer to his family and society. That's a pretty darn good attitude to have.

I'm glad to hear Rob is going home and that he has a good attitude! That's really impressive.

I was pleased to see someone post that your friend should be able to get an artificial limb because my grandpa had his leg amputated (to just below the knee) in his mid-80s, and he's adjusted amazingly well and has excellent mobility.

My positive thoughts are still with you and your friend.

The advances being made in that kind of thing are amazing -- another ten years and we'll be right into "Six Million Dollar Man" territory.
