Some kind of tourism commercial on the Discovery Channel just played ... wait for it ...

CHRISTMAS MUSIC.

It's September 27, people. Someone needs to be tracked down and horsewhipped.

It seems everything is like that anymore, from holidays to sports seasons. Bah. Humbug.

Lol.

All I play from the 1st December to 1st Jan is Xmas music.

But then I've seen ads for Christmas from the start of September onwards. Weird.

Oh, me too -- I LOVE Christmas music, and play it constantly from our Thanksgiving holiday in November all the way until January. (This is assuming the family lets me.) But getting started so early just cheapens the whole thing.

Pretty soon they'll be putting up decorations on July 5th...

Yes, and right after that I'll get arrested. I've long been an advocate of an open hunting season on any Christmas decorations that can be seen from the roadway, to run from January 10 until Thanksgiving. All weapons permitted.

I loathe this pushing of the Christmas season earlier and earlier. When I see Christmas decorations on the shelves in July, I go insane!

And people wonder why I become more and more Scrooge-like every year. :-(

Same here. Truth is, I love the music and color of Christmas -- *at Christmas*.

Geez, I thought they were supposed to at least wait until after Halloween (though even that is too early in my mind).

There's no law stopping them -- don't think I haven't been harassing my elected representatives about it!

Yeesh not okay! I don't condone Christmas promotions until after Halloween!

Exactly! And no decorations until Thanksgiving.

Our Thanksgivings are different though ;) We have ours before Hallowe'en. So I just Hallowe'en as a base date for Christmas starting because there's not a lot going on holiday wise between Hallowe'en and Christmas. We do have Remembrance Day but that's not so much for celebrating.

Yep, I know yours is early, so Halloween makes more sense for you. Down here, Thanksgiving weekend has become the unofficial kick-off of the Thanksgiving season, which still gives us a whole month to gorge ourselves on commercialism. (love your icon!)
