Brayden Robert came out first and was smallest, at 4 pounds 4 ounces.
Hunter James was second, and weighed in at 6 pounds 11 ounces. Don't panic -- his name is not Hunter Hunter, as I suggested: They're taking daddy's last name. (Mom and Dad are filling out the birth certificate as I type this.)
The boys were impatient and came out a bit early, at a little over 34 weeks. As a result, their lungs aren't fully developed, and they'll be in NICU for a couple of weeks, although Charis should be home in a few days. Hunter is having more problems, apparently owing to his being the second one out during the C-Section.
I want to say how incredibly impressed I was by everyone down here at Parkview North in Fort Wayne. The staff has been incredible, and the whole family is in very good hands. They even showed me how to wrap Brayden as a the "baby taco" after I held him (newborns like the feeling of being tightly wrapped up.)
Charis is sore but is already eating and walking around a bit. Vinny has done a great job of pretending he's not totally stressed out ... I'm pretty good at that too, but I've had more practice.
Here they are just before going to the delivery room, at about 6:30 a.m. -- the babies were born at 6:54 a.m. and 6:55 a.m.
So, that's it for now. I've started a photobucket album for the babies, although there aren't too many pics on it yet: http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c97/ozma914/Brayden%20and%20Hunter/
Thanks for all your great comments to my last post! I'll answer as time allows. Everyone is doing as well as can be expected, and the babies are being very well taken care of. Throw all your prayers, wishes and good vibes our way!
