Yep, I took it on the run--before the blossoms fell off, which they did in the rain and wind the next day.

That's the way I killed off a couple of other small trees that I let get out of hand, too…

You can take cuttings of lilacs - I did that successfully before we moved house but be prepared to take around 20 cuttings to get 1 successful one that ‘takes’. They can be moved but I’d try cuttings…
