Stephanie Plum spider

Writer's Block: Between a rock and a hard place

What's worse: a pit of snakes or a pit of spiders?
Oh, that's not even a question. And I should know -- I'm fairly sure there's a pit of spiders somewhere in my basement.

Can't write too much today; my arm muscles are in blinding agony. On a totally unrelated note, I have finally and completely finished demolishing the entire chimney ... and I'm very proud of myself for how much outdoor stuff I accomplished this week, as I only fell once and the injury count is in the single digits. Emily had to do first aid only once, which has got to be some kind of miracle for the number of hand tools I've used over the last several days.

There was that one incident with the ladder, where for an instant I resembled that old poster of the kitten hanging from the branch, titled "Just hang in there!"  Now I know how the kitten felt.
Storm Chaser

Storm Chaser in an antique story

I love old stuff (except for my house, but that's another story). So I'm happy to announce my novel "Storm Chaser" is now available at the Just Off the Square antique and fine collectible shop, at 118 E Main Street in Albion. I signed a copy for Jean Smith over the summer, and discovered she wants to support local authors, and already has books by a few others available there.

I hope everyone, in turn, will support a local business and stop by -- and let them know you heard it from me! If you buy a copy of "Storm Chaser" there, feel free to stop by the Brick Ark Inn on December 3rd, when I'll be doing a book signing with other local authors -- and I may have news later about another book signing coming up this fall.

Oh, and if you’re shopping for a Christmas present for me, Just Of the Square has Groucho Marx and Mark Twain dolls that would look perfect on my bookshelves …
