Thanks to Emily and her uncanny technical skills, my new writer's website is up!

www.markrhunter.com

Don't forget the middle initial; turns out there are hoards of Mark Hunters out there, but only a few of them have that "R".  We'll try to keep it regularly updated with anything involving my writing, and as time goes by we'll even put some web-only content up there, just to keep you on the ball.

That's where I've been for the last few days: Emily was working on the site and I was helping, by which I mean I was there, but I wasn't helping muchIf anyone has any suggestions for anything that they think needs added or changed, or otherwise has comments, we'll be happy to hear from you!

column: Not Joining Any Facebook Games

For the record, I don't have any problem at all with other people playing Facebook Games, if it entertains them and doesn't interfere too much with real life. They're no more addictive than video games, and more intelligent than most television. My choice to quit has to do with issues of quantity, not quality. Still, making fun of things is what I do, so -- here I go.

SLIGHTLY OFF THE MARK

Facebook is supposed to be a website where you can connect with other people. It’s a great place to find former friends and classmates, long lost relatives, those with similar interests, and creepy stalkers. However, like just about anything on the internet, it can also be an incredible time suck. It’s not uncommon to hang around there all night, then fall asleep at work the next day. (Assuming you’re not on Facebook at work.)Collapse )

9 degrees F

One of my coworkers told me this morning that it was a little crisp outside; I replied that Hell is a little toasty.

I think we've reached an understanding.
