I believe that overall technology has been good for the human race, but at the same time I'm concerned that we've become *too* dependent on it. I have this ongoing fear that a well planned and timed cyber attack, or just some kind of cascading accident, could shut down our technology at a time when many people can't seem to function without it. I'm not worried about Cylons or Terminators so much as I am about the human tendency to become complacent and lazy.

It reminds me of the old joke about the blonde who's on the escalator when the power goes out: She has to wait three hours to be rescued.

It does ... something. Somehow. Apparently it just keeps track of who clicks on it, which makes it yet another fun waste of time, thanks to the WWW.
