A Miss Relay For Life pageant will be part of the Noble County Relay For Life activities this year. Girls in three different age groups will be competing for titles as part of the annual American Cancer Society fund raiser, to be held on May 22 and 23 at the West Noble High School football field.
The pageant is a new event for Noble County, but it’s being organized in part by experienced participants in the Dekalb County Relay For Life, which began having a similar pageant six years ago. The three planned age groups planned are:
Little Miss Noble County Relay, Ages 6-8.
Jr. Miss Noble County Relay: Ages 9-13.
Miss Noble County Relay: Ages 14-17. Contestants must be residents of Noble County.
Scoring for participants will be based 30% on money they raise for the Relay For Life; 30% on a personal interview with the judges; 30% on appearance, wearing a sundress or semi-formal dress; and 10% on an on-track question at the event itself.
The first meeting for the pageant will be February 21st, 3 p.m., in the home of contest
organizer Maggie Johnson at 703 S. Peters Street, Garrett. There’s a $50 entry fee, which will go toward participation prizes and t-shirts. Forms and more information are available at the Miss Relay website: http://missrelayforlife.yolasite.com/
, and entry forms are also available at any Community State Bank in Noble County.
