I'm baaaaccckkkkkk.....

Overall the trip went great! Oh, there was the traffic/road construction around Indianapolis, four hours of driving through rain and thunderstorms, then a tornado warning once I got there ...

Tornadoes actually touched down in the next county while I was there in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Unknown to me, the next day the same weather system spawned a tornado that touched down in the county next to Albion -- so I'd have been in the middle of a tornado warning whether I was home or not.

Still, we had a great time overall. I stayed with strangexgirl, who is a great cook, by the way. Her mother makes wonderful sweet tea (iced -- sorry, my English friends) and is as hospitable as the stereotypical southern lady is said to be.

I suppose it could be thought of as something of a goth themed weekend; we walked around in several local cemeteries, had a couple of photo shoots in those cemeteries, visited a reportedly haunted house in the dead of night, and even watched the movie "Army of Darkness"! We even managed to see a shooting star while lying in a cemetery one night -- not *on* the graves, you understand. I've always found the quietness of cemeteries to be relaxing, and I like to look at the names and dates and speculate on their lives -- and sometimes get ideas for characters or stories.

Some pictures will follow, in the future, but I can't say when. I'm so far behind it's not even funny, but I'll try to catch up before NaNoWriMo starts; in the meantime, let me know if I missed anything!
