Something truly horrible boiled up out of my sewer line and spread across the basement floor last night. I don't know all of what it is -- but I know enough.

I need that guy who promised me on frakking Friday that he'd come over to see about replacing my sewer tile to get his ass over here RIGHT NOW. I was trying to be patient because I need someone who's willing to take payments, but now I just need it fixed. If he won't do it for a hundred bucks a month, I'll find someone who'll do it for a kidney. I just want it done. Yesterday.

*holds nose*

Hope you don't need a full copper repipe - and that the fixy guy turns up soon.

He came this afternoon. We figure we're going to have to replace about 20 feet of old tile pipe with the new stuff, but since a gas line crosses it we have to have a locate done before he can start digging -- and the people doing the locate have 48 hours to get it done. *sigh*

I feel your pain
How sad is it that I relate so completely to your post, except that it isn't a sewer that's spewing or a plumber who's unable to fix the problem.

Like Bill Clinton, I feel your pain.

Re: I feel your pain
We all have our crosses to bear -- or sewers to smell, or ... well, you know what I mean. At least I'll get another column out of this.

As for Bill, of course he feels pain -- he's married to Hillary. :-)

Oh no, sewer and bubbling is never a good combo. I'm thinking of you man.

Thanks ... you know, I'll bet this never happens to Doctor Who. His sewage just disappears into some pocket universe on the TARDIS. *is jealous*

It's something I'd just as soon not think overly much about ...

Well, quite.... : )

Ick. So sorry your basement is gross, and that the plumber is a slowpoke.

Not nearly as traumatic as yours, but I also found some weird stuff in my basement last night. A rat skeleton.

A rat skeleton? That's plenty bad in and of itself ...

About a year ago one of the hamsters got out and made itself a home in a mouse nest behind the stove. It not only kicked out at least one living mouse, it dragged a mummified mouse corpse out of the next and left it laying out where I could find it. Now, that's one tough hamster, not only fighting the wild mice but digging up the cemetery.
