NaNoWriMo winner!

Who's a National Novel Writing Month winner???

That's right ... I am!

52,265 words so far, baby. Actually, One more chapter and I'll have the first draft of Fire On Mist Creek done ... although I've already thought of another scene I need to go back and put in, and a few more things to add along the way. I'm figuring around 65,000 words when all is said and done.

Then major revisions, followed by minor revisions, followed by polishing. Then Emily will go through it and find all the stuff I missed. Then I'll put it aside for a month or so to "cool" ... then I go back and start the revision process all over again. January will be National Novel Editing Month. (Actually I think there really is one of those.)

But still ... totally won #NaNoWriMo2017 !!!

I'll probably keep it!

I think it's eye catching

I thought it was, too ... which is remarkable, because it's very rare that my original title sticks.

I hear that. I loathe finding titles. I think this nano novel's title, These Haunted Hills will also stick around.

Oh, I like that -- good title.

Thanks, especially since it's a paranormal romance.

Set in the hills? Which are possibly haunted?

See, it's people who take things literally that bothers me about my title. None of the fires are actually ON Mist Creek.

In this case yes, Hocking HIlls in Ohio (which you and your would probably love hiking in) are literally haunted (if you believe in that sort of thing). I'm using my fellow ghost hunters website as a source.

And yes the overly literally drive me nuts. I would assume the fires aren't on the water unless you know it's Cleveland in the industrial era. I have one friend who is so literal she misses out on things frustrating everyone.

Yeah, that was me.
I don't think I'd be friends with someone who takes everything literally for long. If nothing else, they'd get disgusted and give up trying to understand me.

I just looked up Hocking Hills State Park. Whispering Cave! I want to go to a place called Whispering Cave! As for hauntings, I keep a fairly open mind ... if there's one thing I've learned, it's that there are a lot of things I haven't learned.

Re: Yeah, that was me.
Yeah I think they had the same issues with me.

Hey that one's new. I didn't even know about Whispering Cave. It has a swinging bridge. I must go.

There are more things Horatio...

Re: Yeah, that was me.
First I have to narrow down that list of all the places we want to go in Indiana ...

Good luck

Congratulations! I'm always impressed with people who take part and finishing it is even more impressive. (I ended up not doing it this year.)

I don't blame you for skipping it--it's exhausting. But it's a nice way to jump start writing, even if you don't finish it. For me, it's basically an excuse to stop finding excuses!
